it's an appropriate quote, considering i spent three hours in photostudio making that black background perfect. x_x

i tried doing lips differently, and i didn't like it at all when i finished the lineart. but now that it's coloured and i've had a few days to mull it over, i sort of like it. probably not something i'll be using in future work, however.
i also tried doing the framing differently... sort of a 'negative' effect. personally, i think it looks damn spiffy. i also like all the empty black space above her head. it really solidifies it.

black, white and red is probably one of my favorite colour combinations.

and why are people griping so much about the new gallery organization? heesh. i didn't have any problems at all finding a spot for this. and if they aren't griping about the galleries, they're complaining about the bugs, or the font size, or the way their pages have been reformatted, or how they can't find any of the update/post buttons, etc etc. honestly, people. it's a new version, so it's gonna have its bugs. if you don't like the font size, you can tweak your browser settings and fix it in about 30 seconds. and if you don't know where the goddamn "update journal" button is, take a look around! it's not all that hard, people. i'm getting sick of all the complaining. DA is starting to sound like the people in my town, complaining about the bars and the partying and the tourists and how the parks are gross but not doing a thing about it except writing to the newspaper to complain to a wider audience. if you have that much of a problem with it, get off your arse and do something about it! just sitting there and whining isn't going to get anything done.
